Part Time Man Of Rock

Former Buffalo Tom frontman Bill Janovitz contributed covers of "Please Come Home for Christmas" & "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" to our Houndstooth Holiday Celebration.
Thanks Bill! Bill's blog is well worth your time. This week's "Cover of The Week" is Elvis Presley's "Loving You."

Loved The Tom. Back in the day I cornered Beggars Banquet head Martin Mills on Mike Stuto's roof & begged him to sign 'em. Ten years on was poised to worked their Smitten LP when the corporate geniuses decided to kill our wildly successful re-launch of Polydor Records. That one still stings. Bastards!

The The's Matt Johnson Speaks

Here at Houndstooth we're big, big fans of Matt Johnson. I interviewed this classic iconoclast back in '89. Brilliant stuff. Always challenging, never boring he's added a new feature to his web site:
"Every month we will be previewing upcoming THE THE releases, chatting with collaborators, playing works in progress and even digging deep into the archives for previously unheard material."
Find it at thethe.com.

A Pic of Me w/Mr. Diken

Yes, I realize the Sox cap looks like a thimble on my head. It's an X-X-X that shrunk in the rain. I'm gonna have to trade up another X or two.

Dennis even looks like he likes me. Good man that Dennis.

Dennis Diken & Bell Sound

Your may have heard us play "The Sun's Gonna Shine In The Morning" by Friend of The Hound, Smithereen Dennis Diken's new band Bell Sound. Caught 'em this past weekend at the Vintage Vinyl in-store & they were outstanding. Their first proper gig is tomorrow night at NYC's Bowery Electric (located 1 block down from where CBGB's was next to The Bowery Hotel). In addition to Pete DiBella, Bell Sound currently features the great Chris Butler (ex-The Waitresses).

You can buy Dennis Diken with Bell Sound's Late Music here.
